Rev. Dr. Jerome Frierson, President, known as Pastor J, . serves as president of Landmark Christian Bible Institute (LCBI), established in 2013 as a 501(c)(3) organization. He and his wife, Shelia have been married 36 years and have three adult children, Jerome Jr, Shakira and Danielle. Pastor J’s vision is to empower Christians seeking a deeper understanding of the Bible. With dedication to spreading God’s Word, he stands out as a notable figure in theological education. Dr. Frierson is also the author of Keep Quiet Black Boy: A Leadership Guide to Mentoring Millennials. He has earned six degrees: A.A., B.S., B.R.E., M.R.E., M.Th., Ed.D
A Life Transformed
Pastor J’s journey, starting in 1986, is a powerful testament to God’s transformative grace. Stranded with his mom in his broken-down Chevy Chevette on a remote New York highway, he reflected on his life and brief church visits. This pivotal moment led him to seek answers & meaning, prompting him to walk into a local church the next day. It was Valentine’s day he made the decision to follow Jesus Christ.
Sharing The Gospel
Pastor J’s commitment to Christ became a mission to share his conversion story with his immediate family. He shared his conversion story with Shelia who later became his wife, his parents, brothers and sisters. His journey illuminated the necessity for a deeper understanding of the Bible, especially when questions arose. Always humble and honest, he responded with, “I’m not sure, but I’ll get back to you.”
A Quest for Knowledge
Guided by his philosophy of honesty, Pastor J embarked on an educational journey, seeking a systematic study of the scriptures, culminating in an earned doctorate degree. With unwavering commitment to Christ, he possesses a profound passion for teaching God’s Word.
